Dear Friends of the Pond,

Minnesota's cold has come early and our favorite ponds and rinks are ready for another great season of outdoor hockey!  The Anthony Ford Pond Hockey Classic enters its 11th year with much excitement!

The AFPHC is scheduled for January 26 & 27, 2019.

The Anthony Ford Rink and the Auggie Scheunemen Rink at Spring Lake Park are ready for some action!  We invite you to check out the new warming house, a beautiful community room overlooking the 2 rinks will surely make Spring Lake a favorite destination for outdoor hockey players in our area.    

We are excited to announce the events surrounding the pond hockey classic:

Friday, Jan. 25 - East/West alumni outdoor game on the Anthony Ford Rink at Spring Lake Park.  

Friday, Jan. 25 - Concert at Mankato Brewery! The Murphy Brothers Band will help kick off the hockey weekend with a concert just a few blocks over at the Mankato Brewery.  Details to Come...

Saturday, Jan. 26 Adult men and women will compete in 5 divisions of play in the 11th annual AFPHC.  For more information, click on the pond hockey page.

Sunday, Jan. 27 Youth take over the pond. Divisions for mini-mite, mite, advanced mite, squirt/U10, pee wee/U12 & bantam aged players.

12 NiceRinks provide a great game day experience.  Our pond is nestled along the Minnesota River bluff at Spring Lake Park in beautiful lower North Mankato.  The park is protected from the wind and features multiple warming houses, hospitality area and 2 new outdoor rinks.  Minutes from the city center of Mankato/North Mankato you will find many many hotels, restaurants and shopping.  

Proceeds from the events support Therapeutic Advances in Childhood Leukemia and help keep hockey affordable in our area.
